While sweet pineapple provides an acidic backdrop for this barbecue sauce, there are plenty of other flavors at play here—like blackstrap molasses and chili powder, to name a couple. The multidimensional yet cohesive sauce is a little sweet, a little smoky, and plenty savory, making it so much more than a grilling sauce. Rootz's Los Angeles twist means this stuff is perfect for fusion foods like Korean tacos, and it brings complexity as a finishing touch on pan-seared fish. Of course, you can always use it simply as a dipping sauce for shrimp cocktail, or spread it onto a grilled cheese for umami madness!
